Hot melt adhesives
Hot melt adhesive is a thermoplastic material, which consists of a base polymer, such as thermoplastic elastomers EVA, SIS, and other polyolefins including metallocene PO.
They are solvent-free formulations which become liquid when heated and are applied in a molten state. Hot melts are characterized by a very rapid build-up of internal strength on cooling. They can be reactivated by heat and therefore be used for pre-coating and joints can be opened by heating.
EVA hot melts are used in a wide range of industries and applications:
Packaging and displays, Do-It-Yourself, building construction, plastic assembly, wood and furniture, textile lamination and coating, automotive. Polyolefin hot melts provide several advantages in packaging industries when used to bond coated boards (polyester, PPL, polyethylene) and varnished surfaces. They ensure short setting time and high heat resistance.
